Holiday trip Italy/France. Part II – France, The Côte d'Azur

With delay I publish some pictures from second part of my vacation (hmm, looking through window it's very nice to recall hot and sunny days in France). Visit France, especially the Côte d'Azur,  in July - it is not the best idea, but definitely better than visit in August. Our week in the Port Grimaud was the last week before high season, so I could book the mobile-home with no the highest price :)

It was my next visit in this place.
Official webpage of the Port Grimaud: The Port Grimaud
I booked mobile-home through Booking.com page (yes, it's possible): Mobil-home Port Grimaud

We arrived on Saturday evening and stayed to next Saturday - one week.

Our target was - visit old Grimaud, visit St Tropez, travel to Verdon Gorge (Canion) and see the Lavender Fields.

First of all we went to Port Grimaud - interesting, tourist spot.

The old Grimaud is located nearly 6 km from the Port Gromaud, it is silent and nice town with the 11th-century castle ruins and the mill. You can stroll through the narrow little streets and meet nobody.

The old city

Strolling you can meet cats, lazy lying on the streets ...

St Tropez - what I should write about this place, it's famous spot ... We sailed boat and it was great idea - no traffic jam, no problem with car park.

Next target on our trip - Verdon Gorge (canion).

The Verdon Gorge (in French: Gorges du Verdon or Grand canyon du Verdon), in south-eastern France  is a river canyon that is often considered to be one of Europe's most beautiful. It is about 25 kilometres long and up to 700 metres deep. It was formed by the Verdon River, which is named after its startling turquoise-green colour, one of the canyon's most distinguishing characteristics.

You can drive around canion - in places the road is narrow and winding. We stopped for a while in beautiful small village - Moustiers-Sainte-Marie.

Not far from this nice place we found Lavender Fields - great view, stunning fragrance and buzzing bees ...nice to be there ...

So - remain memories and last bottle of french wine :)

Holiday trip Italy/France. Part II – Italy/Dolomites

FIRST DAY - our goal is Sass de Pordoi, 2950 m.

Start from Cianacei.
The weather is very nice - windy, temperature near 25 degrees. Wow - it is a lot of snow around us - it is summer, July - unfortunately not ski  season :)
The trip took us five hours.

Beautiful view around

Walking in the snow

Snow, snow, snow ...

Return trip by lift

SECOND DAY - our goal is Roda del Vael area.

Very nice and beautiful route from Poza. Trip to Rifugio Roda del Vael (2280m), later on Pas dal Vailolon and Pas da le Zigolande (wow, this pass wasn't easy to reach), and return by unmarked path with storm behind ... trip took us 6 hours.

Silence ...

THIRD DAY - trip from Passo Costalunga to Roda del Vael.

View from Rifugio Roda del Vael

The lull before the storm

Rifugio Roda del Vael

This day we had "a close encounter" with lightning - 5 meter in front of us.

FOURTH DAY - our goal Laghi di Lusia - nice lakes in the mountains.

It is wonderful place for bikers ...below one of the example of interesting and nice trip.

Finally, I must say espresso tastes great in mountains :)
