Last information - the Portugal government is talking with Woody Allen and try to convince him to create his next film in Lisbon - I keep my fingers crossed :)

"Lisboa - o meu amor" - DAY 3

The Saturday was the last day to explore Lisbon. First of all we visited very famous shop with canned sardines – Conserveira De Lisboa (http://www.conserveiradelisboa.pt/en) and we bought some canes. Our sight caught a woman sitting in the corner who packed all canes in a wrapping paper - manually on site. Judging from the queue and number of people this shop is very popular.

Next target - Castle of São Jorge. You could feel that it was Saturday – definitely more tourists around on the street.
Let's go to Castle !
We went to St Vincent Church next - an exceptional 16th century monument and walked among stalls on Lisbon's flea market located just behind the church. Lisbon's flea market,  called locally the Feira da Ladra,  is often thought to mean "Thieve's Market" (in Portuguese "ladra" is a woman thief. A market of this type is thought to have been in place in Lisbon since the 12th Century.

I saw much more sellers and their stands than two years ago – the crisis is visible, you could buy almost everything – from used coats, trousers, shoes or suitcases to hammers and screws. Next to this you could find books, paintings, records and gramophone.

Among stands, which very often were blankets spread on the ground, walked people who wanted to sell you sunglass or hat.

Near St Vincent Church you can visit National Pantheon.

There were crowded and noisy so we turned into a narrow and quite little street.

The long stroll and we were at Miradouro da Graça  it is the place with amazing view of Lisbon. Espresso in local cafe, blue sky, sunny weather, and beautiful view of Lisbon

We caught a tram number 28 and went to Baixa. Nice trip, amazing view around.

We walked to The Patriarchal Cathedral of St. Mary Major - Lisbon Cathedral.
It’s the oldest church in the city – we were lucky, it was wedding ceremony.

We caught a tram number 28 again and this time we had longer trip through the whole Alfama and Bairro Alto …

We spent Saturday evening in Casa do Alenlejo restaurant (Casa do Alentejo - Lisbon ), located just behind the Rossio Square – wow, what magnificent place - beautiful décor, good wine and food (again fish ) . Restaurant is situated in former palace building.

Back in the evening to the hotel we saw a lot of people – it was Saturday, 11.00 pm , 15 Celsius – this will be missed …
