Our target – The Park of Nations (Parque das Nacoes) - modern district with
contemporary architecture and Vasco da Gama bridge as the backdrop.
It was
sunny and warm, so strolling by waterfront promenade was very enjoyable. We
guided steps to aquarium - Oceanario de Lisboa. It is the biggest aquarium in
the Europe, definitely worth seeing. The November proved very good time to
visit this place – a few people so we could slowly and sometimes lonely watched
the underwater world in huge aquarium.
The leafy sea-dragon.
The
sea-dragons are some of the most ornately camouflaged creatures on the planet.
Shopping in Vasco da Gama Shopping Center, return by underground to old
part of Lisbon and evening espresso in pleasant café in Chiado district – it
was our second part of the day.
At the evening – out for dinner. We went to Bairro Alto – a central district of Lisbon. It is the centre of nightlife with many restaurants,
bars and clubs. What’s interesting many
of the bars in Bairro Alto have to be closed at 3:00 a.m., due to noise
complaints. You can also observe the increase in the number of police officers
assigned to the district, to patrol the streets.
Strolling the narrow streets we found nice
restaurant – honestly speaking Portuguese waiter invited us to enter using
polish language or maybe more precisely he used some polish words to attract us
J. Atmosphere was great, food average – definitely those who chose the fish won,
Portuguese steak with fried egg served in this place is not worth
recommendation.
