Tuscany - Part I

I know – blog should be written to data, but my case is different J I would like to show pictures I took during my holidays and add some comments, maybe these comments will be useful for someone.

We arrived to Chianti Village Morrocco on Monday – the weather was little bit different than I expected – 24 degrees and rainy. Wow – all mentioned that temperature in July in Tuscany is above 30 degrees.  For me such low temperature is very nice – especially for our plan for visiting villages and small towns in this beautiful region.

On Tuesday we went to San Gimignano - it is the place you must visit during stay in Tuscany.  Why ?  you have to see this place and feel the atmosphere,  try a wine, olive or delicious ice cream in the famous Sergio Dondoli gelateria What more ? It is the taste of Tuscany …

The next step was Coltre di Val d’Elsa It was afternoon – empty streets, lack of people – we strolled alone  narrow streets …

Next day – we decided to do longer trip: Monteriggioni (supposedly some episodes from Gladiator was made here), Siena and Greve in Chianti – the main town in the Chianti Fiorentino.

The Monteriggioni - a medieval walled town, located on a natural hillock, built in 1214–19. You can fill as in in medieval times.

Siena – famous Tuscany’s city.  Famous for Duomo, Palio horse race and Piazza del Campo.

Market in Siena

Duomo

Greve in Chianti - you can taste here vine or …ham J There are famous butcher’s shops with game and pork …
